Shell Lake Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon

Imagine a triathlon that begins just steps from a sparkling 2,600-acre lake, surrounded by the charm of a small town where life moves at a more peaceful pace. The Shell Lake Lions Triathlon/Duathlon, held annually on the fourth Saturday in July, brings athletes and spectators together for a memorable race through one of Wisconsin’s most scenic communities. With a course that winds along the beautiful countryside, a public beach, lakeside park, and campground, participants enjoy more than just a physical challenge—they experience the warmth and creativity of Shell Lake itself. 

The Shell Lake Lions Club hosts two events at 8 AM on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at the Shell Lake beach. Timing services are provided by Duluth Timing and Events. There are 2 events, the triathlon (a traditional swim/bike/run) and the duathlon (a run/bike/run event). Both events will run concurrently.  Individual or teams may enter either event.

The triathlon course is a 1/3 mile swim, a 15 mile bike and 3.4 mile run.
The duathlon is a 2 mile run instead of the swim, a 15 mile bike and 3.4 mile run.
Medals will be given to all participants.
